This large job offer includes different roles within public administration across the country.* *Many of these positions are for working as a civil servant in key areas such as healthcare, education and justice. These sectors are essential for the proper functioning of public services.* *To access these positions, candidates must take competitive public exams as part of an official selection process. Each announcement includes specific requirements that applicants must meet.* *In Spain, this type of job is very attractive because it offers job stability and a fixed salary. For this reason, thousands of people prepare every year to obtain a public sector position.* ### **📚 Vocabulary – Jobs and public sector (B1)** 🧑‍💼 **empleo público** – *public sector job* 📄 **plaza** – *job position* 🏛 **funcionario** – *civil servant* 📝 **oposiciones** – *competitive public exams* ⚙️ **proceso selectivo** – *selection process* 📢 **convocatoria** – *official job announcement* 📊 **estabilidad laboral** – *job stability* 💶 **salario fijo** – *fixed salary* 🏢 **administración pública** – *public administration* 🏥 **sanidad** – *healthcare* 🏫 **educación** – *education* ⚖️ **justicia** – *justice* 💼 **oferta de empleo** – *job offer* 🧾 **puesto de trabajo** – *job position / role* 🚑 **servicios públicos** – *public services* 📋 **requisitos** – *requirements* ## 🧑‍🏫 Writing reinforcement: *Hay / se ofrecen / se convocan* In Spanish news, it is very common to talk about jobs and opportunities using **impersonal structures**. These structures help the speaker focus on the information, not on who performs the action. Look at these examples from the text: 📝 **Ejemplos:** ➡️ *Hay más de 30.000 plazas de empleo público en España.* ➡️ *Se convocan nuevas plazas en la administración pública.* ➡️ *Se ofrecen puestos de trabajo en sanidad, educación y justicia.* These structures are very useful when talking about job offers, announcements and public information. What are *'oposiciones'* in Spain?
